Virginia legislation affecting the Commonwealth

284, Secretary of Administration,
in cooperation with the Commonwealth Competition
Council, to study methods to privatize appropriate
state government functions through the development
and promotion of employee-owned companies.
The Secretary is to submit his findings and
recommendations to the Governor and the 1998
session of the General Assembly
- HB
2373, Requires the Council to report
its findings and recommendations to the Small
Business Commission in addition to the Governor
and the General Assembly.
- SB
821, Eliminates the two-year term
for the leasing of vehicles by any state agency.
- SB
929, Authorizes the Tax Commissioner
to provide current name and address information
to private collectors for their confidential
use when acting on behalf of the Commonwealth
or any of its localities. If any information
provided to a private collector is used in
an unauthorized manner, the Tax Commissioner
shall not provide such collector with additional
information.
